Air Handling Ceiling Support Structure Design and Installation for the Restaurant Industry

Ace Fixtures has done some of the most high end restaurants in the Cleveland area, so it was an honor to work with them on this project.  Our challenge was finding a way to safely suspend heavy equipment overhead in a cost effective manner.  In addition to these parameters, we needed to complete this installation quickly so our customer’s kitchen wouldn’t be out of operation for long.

Our team designed and installed an overhead support system for the 900lb hood and 400lb make up air unit. We were able to design a very simple structure utilizing Unistrut and Hilti materials, including Unistrut P1000t, P1064 and Hilti Kwik Bolt TZ to attach to the deck, and P3008, P1063, HTHR037 threaded rod, HFLW037 flat washers, HHXN037 nuts and HLKW037 lock washers attached to the Unistrut to support the hood and make up air units.  The end result was a simple and clean installation that kept the Ace crew under budget.
